January 21, 2010 PLV Annual Board Meeting
The PLV Bible Study meets on Thursday afternoons from 2 to 4 PM. This is a great way for each of us to fellowship with others, grow in our Christian life, and understand God’s Word better. Group study gives us the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and find support and encouragement to study God’s Word in an easy to understand way. We are not associated with any particular church, but enjoy the caring, prayer support, and fellowship of each one who attends. There were about 10 ladies registered for each study this year.
We completed three studies in 2009.
Starting January 22nd, we studied “Behold Your God.” This 13 week study covered many of God’s attributes and helped us get to know more about God and how he relates to people.
From April through June, the Thursday Bible Study group sponsored four movies on the big screen for the park as a whole. Pop Corn was, of course, supplied.
Beginning on August 13th, we started a short (5 week) verse by verse study of the New Testament book of Philemon – a story of forgiveness.
Our 12 week fall study started September 23rd. “The Ten Commandments from the Backside” (the positive side) helped us see the love and good intentions that God put into each of these commands to give us the best in life.
After a break for the Christmas holidays, our group is now starting the 2010 year with a study very appropriate for our chaotic times. How do we deal with news reports, the job market, shaky economic conditions, health care changes, etc. Dr. David Jeremiah helps Christians see God’s plans in Scripture for our lives today that keep us “Living With Confidence in a Chaotic World.” All ladies are invited to come with your questions, experiences, and interest for this study which just started on January 14th in the clubhouse conference room. We meet each Thursday from 2 to 4 pm.
